One of the pillars of ensuring a sustainable future for the next generations is to incorporate Sustainability into the built environment of NJ Schools. USGBC NJ shares the national vision of greening every NJ School within a generation. USGBC NJ works on projects such as our IMPACT Study which establishes a baseline for NJ schools and incorporates a short and long range master plan to bring the sustainability level up to par – and LEED. These studies are shared throughout the state and US to provide best practices in achieving these goals. The processes and outcomes are integrated into the classroom curricula whereby the school is regarded as a learning lab.
